121211me-lds-leftbank1_t607Peter Sottong’s Calusa artwork has been a fixture of the southwestern Florida art scene for more than 10 years. His interest in the area’s local history, specifically the lives of the Calusa Indians and their famous “Key Marco Cat,” inspired an entire line of replicas depicting the artwork of this remarkable native American tribe.

His celebrated Calusa replicas are prominently featured at the Marco Island Historical Museum, at the Gulf Coast Visitor Center – Everglades National Park , and at the Key West Shipwreck Treasures Museum.

Replicas of these pieces can be purchased through his online Marco Cat Shop:

During the months of October through April, the artist presents his work at local art shows where all the metal art and Calusa replicas can be viewed and purchased.
